NALS...the association for legal professionals, began in 1929 as the National Association of Legal Secretaries. A young legal secretary, Eula May Jett, in Long Beach, California, was encouraged by a court clerk to talk with other legal secretaries about correct preparation of legal documents. As a result of that challenge, NALS was formed. Today NALS is a tri-level organization with membership available in local chapters and state associations nationwide.
